Dear developer,
this is the site where you will get all information that is needed to use the services provided by Roadee.net.
In all documents we will refer to the routing service with name "Roadee.net". Roadee.net is the result of developing Roadee which was the first Openstreetmap based navigation system on the iPhone and Routino which is an Open Source Project started from Andrew M. Bishop.
We have already made some significant changes to the latest version of routino. As with all works which are based on or around the AGPL you will find the whole source code of the software which is directly derived from the routino project in the download section. We have also created a subversion repository for all whom ever want to contribute to the project.
There you will also find some precreated XCode and Netbeans Projects for all parts of the routino software.
Roadee.net is free and will stay free!
All you have to do is, to sign up for an account on Roadee.net.
Developer have to create an account section in there software where users can enter their Roadee.net credentials. It is not allowed to share your credentials with others. Still doing so, will result in dectivating your free Roadee.net account.
Roadee.net is designed to fit your needs when it comes to variety. Unlike other routing services, Roadee.net offers an amazing options set. You can define almost everything to get the best route for your needs.
It is our believe that there has to be a possibility to create routes that are really fit the restrictions or preferences of the creator of the route. Imagine you are a truck driver trying to route from point A to point B. If there is a bridge in between with some weight restriction you will mostlikely create a traffic stuck when you reach the bridge when the route was planed with a common router. With Roadeeno you are able to set the vehicle specs, so that the created route takes care of such restircitions. For more information see the "Request" section.
As a developer you are mostlikely interested in the way Roadeeno works and how easy it is to incorporate Roadee.net into your idea. You will find all neccessary information in the Request and Response section.
Variety is also present in the way that Roadee.net produces outputs. You can choose from up to 6 different types of output for the requested route. The more and more used JSON and GPX format is off course part of the rich option set. However, if you think that the there has to be another output format, let us know by simply sending an email to developer@roadee.net.
As another real damn cool feature Roadee.net is able to create not only 6 fromats but can change the richment of the content. If you look at other routing services either in the payed or the openstreetmap based map data field, you will always get a route which tells you what to do on which intersection and so on. But when it comes to navigation, you have to announce the to be taken action before the action takes place. So Roadee.net offers the possibility to choose between the common old way of creating a route - we call that the "Web" version - and the "Navi" version where you have the announcements as well. For more information see the "Response" section.
So now, we hope you all are happy about the service and use it a lot.
